A certain popular yogurt is in the headlines--and the naughty seat from the FDA--for reportedly making phony health claims. Do you eat this stuff?
The issue is not that Dannon's Activia Yogurt (you know, the brand that Jamie Lee Curtis advertises) is unsafe or bad in any way, it's that the FDA had taken issue with health claims the company makes about it.
The sticking point? While studies have shown "modest benefit" for digestion, most researchers note that three servings of yogurt are needed to get the effect, and Dannon claimed that a single serving would help with regularity. For that, the company is now forced to pay $21 million in 39 states--wowza!
Feels a harsh to me, no?
Do you eat Activia? Three times a day?
